General Information about flying
your US Flag- SIZE: The length of the flag on an upright flagpole should be ¼ to ⅓ the height of the pole. A 20’ pole would fly a 3x5’ or a 4x6’. The size for a pole mount on the side of a house is generally a 2x3’ to 3x5’. MATERIAL: Heavyweight 200 denier DuPont nylon is the longest lasting nylon flag fabric available. Its light weight but dense weave allow it to dry quickly and fly in the gentlest breeze. Durable 2x2 ply spun polyester is an ideal flag material for high wind conditions and daily flying. Many people fly the larger flag in nylon in the summer, and switch to a smaller size in the heavier polyester during the stormier months. Both the nylon and the polyester feature fully sewn stripes and embroidered stars up to size 12x18’. Sizes 15x25’ and larger have fully sewn stars. |
